Cold sesame noodles with chicken, asparagus, and cucumbers.

As I recover from travel, and with Ann on a cousins’ getaway, I wanted to share some of my go-to summer recipes with you extraordinary paid subscribers (thank you!). Summer is a great cooking season, but as it’s been bloody hot just about everywhere. All these recipes are either grilled or eaten cold or at room temperature. You’ve still got to cook the food, but there’s not a more refreshing dish than a leeks vinaigrette on a hot evening, or cold sesame noodles with chicken and asparagus. My Rhubarb Pie recipe does require an oven but the pie is so good it’s worth it even if your kitchen isn’t air-conditioned.
